Want to know more about the JSE? Join my paid subscription service where I provide email updates of my thoughts on the JSE, in line with my style - which is slightly unusual, but makes complete sense to me. The cornerstones of my approach are:
Directors have inside knowledge of companies, so I keep a close eye on their trades, carefully sifting through the many which are not very meaningful (e.g. employee incentive investment schemes)
Applying a valuation model to those shares which catch my eye, to check whether the current price offers sufficient margin of safety.
Here's what you can expect :
my best ideas (on the JSE & other investment-related topics)
regular updates (in keeping with the ethos of avoiding padding, some might be quite short, others will be longer when I have something to say).
an opportunity to request topics to be covered.
The price is R1200 for a year's subscription, (I wont insult your intelligence by trying to make the number small by breaking it down into a monthly or weekly rate!).
To join, complete the above form and I'll send you banking details. Alternatively, drop me an email at invest@freeinvestmentadvice.org and I'll send you details on how to join the clan.
If you don't want to subscribe I understand & still love you :)
Rob Baker
Who am I?
Here's how Alec Hogg introduced me in my Grindrod analysis he published on Biznews : Rob Baker is an investment actuary. He worked in traditional roles for 17 years before breaking out on his own. He loves the investment world and is keen to make a living from analysing stocks. Rob is launching a subscription service at R100 a month, offering to share insight into the processes he goes through when buying or selling stocks to construct a tax-effective portfolio. As he put it: “It’ll be an unusual service in the sense that some of the updates will be very short, and others long - I won’t need to pad the updates like standard financial magazines, which fill themselves up with low quality information.” I suggested to Rob that he write a piece for Biznews.com to give us an idea of what he has to sell. Here’s his piece on Grindrod which certainly opened my eyes.
