Consumer Goods is an example of a sector that isn’t very cyclical, which would be expected as it is comprised of shares like SABMiller, Richemont, Tiger Brands, and Clover.

Penny stocks

The idea here is that a share might be worth 2.5c, and its traded value is constantly shifting between 2c and 3c. The opportunity exists to buy at 2c, and then wait till somebody is willing to buy it from you at 3c, resulting in a 50% gain (less trading stock).

Shares which had a closing price of 2c, 3c, 4c or 5c on the 28th Oct 2011 were (1c shares aren't looked at, as they could be worth 0.5c)
